Taste Future Wine Releases Straight from the Barrel
Like eating cherries from the tree or bread just out of the oven, Barrel Tasting weekend offers the ability to enjoy a taste of something right from the source. It’s also your first opportunity to taste the next great releases from our Lake Chelan Valley wineries.
Here is a sampling of what you can experience this Saturday & Sunday:
Atam Winery will be tasting their 2012 Barbera straight from the barrel.
Benson Vineyards will feature their 2013 Winemaker’s Reserve Syrah, hosted by their winemaking team. Plus, they have live music on Saturday, May 16th from 2:00 to 5:00pm, featuring “Humor & Heart.”
Cairdeas Winery will be barrel tasting their first ever Lake Chelan AVA Syrah, co-fermented with Viognier. Sample straight from the puncheon (one really big wine barrel!).
Taste Chelan Estate Winery & Vineyards 2014 Pinot Noir.
Chelan Ridge Winery will be barrel tasting their 2012 Estate Malbec.
Join Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards for some memorable fun and frivolities that make up Spring Barrel Tasting! They’ll be opening up the barrel room, polishing up the wine thief, and dipping some samples right out of the casks.
Karma Vineyards will be tasting their new Chardonnay aged in American oak 16 months as well as their Blanc de Noir.
At Lake Chelan Winery, taste two different Merlots from two different vineyards “side by side” to learn how this affects wine characteristics.
Legend Cellars will be barrel tasting their 2013 Petit Verdot of Phinney Hill Vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. Come tickle your palate with honey, cheese, and wine pairing – a food experience you will not soon forget!
Nefarious Cellars will be throwing open the cellar door and rolling out the barrels for the first peek at the 2014 vintage!
“Roll Out the Barrel” at Rio Vista Wines! Come for a unique experience either “at the Cabin” or “on the River”. Try their newest vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon right from the barrel! After barrel sampling, you are invited to a vertical tasting of Cab already in the bottle. Taste what a difference a year in oak makes.
Sneak a preview of upcoming vintages of 2013 Estate Malbec right from the barrel at Tsillan Cellars. Then linger for lunch at Sorrento’s Ristorante and enjoy Italian favorites.
Taste Wapato Point Cellars‘ 2013 red wines from the barrel for this fun weekend! Plus, appetizers available for purchase from 12:00 to 5:00pm and a delicious spring fresh sheet is available at the Winemaker’s Grill after 5:00pm.
The Winegirl and crew of Winegirl Wines will be poppin’ some bungs, maybe even more than one. Come see how their place has been given a very colorful upgrade, then relax with a glass of wine in the yard!
