Membership Letter

Dear Prospective Member,

Thank you for your interest in joining the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce. Enclosed, you will find information on membership benefits and enrollment for the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce.

The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce has been in continuous operations since 1924 and currently serves close to 400 members.  Just a few of the benefits you will enjoy as a member include:

  • Business After Hours: Each month on the third Thursday a Chamber member has the opportunity to spotlight their facilities and services, while providing a relaxed social environment where members can network with one another.
  • Monthly Membership Meeting & Luncheon: Members meet on the second Monday at Campbell’s Resort. Each month a featured guest speaker covers timely topics. This is also a great opportunity for members to share what is going on in their corner of the world during the open discussion segment.
  • The Chamber also distributes a monthly newsletter to help keep our members in touch with Chamber business including updates on events and programs, as well as offering useful tips, information, and cost effective advertising opportunities.
  • The member-elected Board of Directors as well as the committee’s meet once a month to discuss current member, business, and community issues.

Some of the programs our members find to be of special value are:

Ø       Internet Representation.  The Chamber’s Internet site, www.lakechelan.com, has proven to be an incredible referral source. Our site started out in 2001 with over 10,000 hits. In 2005 we had over 150,000 hits.

Ø       Referrals. The Visitor Center responds to over 30,000 direct inquiries each year. We refer members via our walk-in visitors, e-mails, phone calls, faxes, and mail.

Ø       Brochure Display and Distribution.  Each member is entitled to a 4’’ x 9’’ size rack space for their business brochure or flyer in the lobby of the Chambers’ Visitor Center.  Many of our walk-in visitors discover businesses and services in this manner!

The yearly investment for membership is based on the number of employees for Retail/Service, the number of rooms for Hotel/Motel/Resorts, Private Rentals, Bed & Breakfast, Camping, with additional categories for Non-Profit, Associate, and Education/Municipalities.  A dues fee schedule is included with your membership packet. Don’t forget!  Membership dues are tax deductible as a business expense. If you have questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at director@lakechelan.com, or Cindy at programs@lakechelan.com or you can call us on 509-682-3503.

Sincerely,

Micheal Steele
