Lake Chelan Shore to Shore Marathon Canceled

Sunset Racing Events cancels involvement in Lake Chelan Shore to Shore Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K, citing personal health reasons.

Chelan, Washington – June 23, 2010

Lake Chelan Shore to Shore Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K, originally scheduled for September 18, has been canceled. The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce’s event partner, Sunset Racing Events, has canceled its involvement in the promotion and execution of this year’s event, citing personal health reasons. Sunset Racing’s Event Director/Principal Owner Keith Hughes recently underwent surgery that eliminated his ability to support the event.

“We’re very disappointed Shore to Shore will not continue this year--we were looking forward to celebrating the race’s 10^th anniversary. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond our control have required us to cancel the event,” said Chamber Executive Director Mike Steele. “Our thoughts are with Keith for a speedy recovery.”
