      <title>Member Monthly Breakfast Paul Casey</title>
      <link>http://www.lakechelan.com/includes/events/?eventid=1074</link>
<description>06-26-2013 &lt;p&gt;80% of small businesses fail.&amp;nbsp; This is an unfortunate fact. &amp;nbsp;Anyone can start a business but only a few can sustain your business. Why is that? Paul Casey, small business owner for 25 years will addresses these and other issues in his book: &amp;quot;Is-Self-Employment for You? and on his radio talk show that he hosted for a number of years. Paul has interviewed 1,000's of small business owners and has come up with some surprising revelations as to why there is such a high failure rate among small businesses. It's not the Master's Degree in Business from Harvard that guarantees success. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Why does one restaurant succeed and one across the street fails? The quality of food is important but that's about fourth on the list.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Paul will share with you the biggest myths about small business success and how you can increase your prospects for small business success. &amp;nbsp; A successful entrepreneur, Paul E. Casey, is the CEO and founder of Casey Communications, a full-service marketing and communications firm based in Seattle, Washington. Casey secures value for his clients with effective radio advertising campaigns that incorporate Casey's seven elements of success: simplicity, imagery, reach, frequency, targeted, local relevance and call to action. Casey creates and produces the radio ads that inspire the behavioral change to achieve the clients' objectives. Casey Communications places radio advertising across the nation.&amp;nbsp; Casey combines his passion for broadcast with his experience running a business in his book &amp;quot; Is Self-Employment for You?&amp;quot; and has produced radio shows on small business innovators. Casey began pursuing his entrepreneurial dream at a young age, founding Casey Communications in 1988, producing and running his own radio show on one of Seattle's most popular stations and publishing a successful newspaper. As Fortune 500 companies began calling on Casey Communications with increasing frequency, Casey expanded his services to include print and broadcast mediums outside his own newspaper and radio show. Prior to founding Casey Communications, Casey worked in state government as community affairs director for a commission that reported directly to then governor of Washington State, Daniel J. Evans.&amp;nbsp; He later served as an account executive at a mid-sized public relations firm before going on to become the public affairs manager for Seattle Metro transit project. In 1985 Casey became the first executive director of the Alzheimer's Association of Western Washington, where he increased revenues exponentially. Paul is the Chairman of the Edward R. Murrow Professional Advisory Board at Washington State University. Casey holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Washington State University, and currently resides in Seattle with his wife, Marti.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
