Many people believe that when the air gets cold, it’s time to get off the lake. Don’t you dare tell that to a Lake Chelan angler, unless you want to see an arched eyebrow or hear a knowing chuckle. They know fishing is an all-year activity here. Lake Chelan boasts a world-class fish stocking program, with agencies releasing 100,000 chinook salmon, 60,000 lake trout, 100,000 rainbow trout, and 600,000 kokanee every year into those glacial depths. Bring a big net, by the way. The Washington State Record Lake Trout was caught in the lake…a whopping 35 pounds, 7 ounces! Where was the previous state record holder caught? We’ll give you three guesses. You’ll only need one. Area stores boast one-stop shopping for gear, lures, gossip, permits, advice on the best fishing spots, and astounding stories about that one that juuust got away. 

So what’s keeping you? The fish are waiting.
