North Cascades Bank, a division of Glacier Bank, is seeking a full-time Accounting Specialist located in our Chelan branch. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting the accounting department on tasks including, but not limited to: financial reconciliation, accounts payable, fixed assets, and payroll. The role also entails maintaining the highest level of professionalism as he or she exercises discretion in answering employee and vendor questions and resolving problems effectively and efficiently.

The ideal candidate for the position will be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task. Attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a desire for lifelong learning and career development are essential for success in this position. In addition, he or she must be extremely organized and have great time management skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts payable processing
General ledger and other account reconciliations
Fixed asset general ledger processing and reconcilement
Assist with payroll changes and processing
Supply ordering and mail
Special projects and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
A two-year college degree and/or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school relevant to accounting.
Two years of experience in the accounting and/or finance field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:
High level of professionalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel) with experience using pivot tables, graphs, linked workbooks, etc.
Problem solving
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers, employees and vendors.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: The employee is constantly required to stand and walk. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
