The Board of Directors of the Lake Chelan School District seeks highly qualified applicants for the position of
Director of Human Resources, Payroll &Benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Process, all aspects of payroll, payroll reporting requirements and accounting.
Monitor and ensure compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations including but not limited to, Retirement, COBRA, Employment Security, L&I, IRS 403b and 457 plans and other programs as may be required.
Prepare and process S-275 reports and assist in the personnel budgeting process for the annual budget.
Verify contract adjustments and changes in salaries, supplemental payments, resignations, retirement eligibility, and deductions.
Conduct training sessions for district staff pertaining, but not limited to, payroll and human resources processes and reporting
Maintain confidentiality and make decisions to solve payroll problems.
Provide positive, collaborative, and visionary leadership for all facets of the district’s learning program and working environment. Consult with Superintendent, colleagues to achieve success.
Advise supervisors and administrators in all areas of human resources management, including wage and hour laws, disability law, District policies and procedures, contract interpretation, labor and employment law and sexual harassment.
Provide leadership in maximizing the use of limited resources to achieve high quality, performance-based learning and working environments.
Reconcile and resolve conflict among staff, students, parents, and community members with a focus on the districts mission.
Assist supervisors and administrators in resolving staff issues and work with employees to achieve resolutions.
Review and monitor work assignments to assure compliance with relevant state and federal employment laws and regulations, board policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
Assures equal opportunity in employment; explain, interpret, and enforce the terms and condition of agreements.
Negotiate on behalf of the district with various employee groups. Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with bargaining unit representatives. Develop bargaining strategies, compiles, and analyzes wage data, makes recommendations to the district regarding annual budget, achieves tentative agreements with established parameters, and prepares agreement for Board approval.
Oversee the classifications of new positions and job reclassification requests. Work with supervisors and administrators to develop job descriptions that accurately and thoroughly reflect work to be performed.
Maintain knowledge of policies, laws, and regulations from various agencies/organizations to ensure legal compliance, such as but not limited to: OSPI, Washington Department of Education, Washington State Department of Labor, and Industries, US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, US Department of Education, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Oversee employment evaluation systems ensuring that processes align with state law and collective bargaining agreements.
Collaborate with legal counsel on legal matters pertaining to employees, disciplinary actions, and other issues that arise.
CONTRACT AND BENEFITS
The Director of Human Resources, Payroll & Benefits is a 260-day contract position which begins July 1, 2022.
Salary range is between $90,000 and $110,000.00 dependent upon experience plus benefits provided to other district administrators.
