Job Description:
Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, Morgen Owings Elementary will have openings for elementary (primary and intermediate) teachers.
SUMMARY:
A classroom teacher that fosters and enhances an effective learning environment; facilitates the development or revision of curriculum and instructional materials; establishes effective rapport with students to motivate and develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade level education.
Professional Qualifications and Essential Skills:
● Teach students the skills and attitudes to be successful in the subject matter in accordance with state statutes, Common Core State Standards, district policy and adopted curriculum, to help prepare students for lifelong learning and success.
● Should be familiar with UDL (Universal Design for Learning) as well as PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports)
● Skilled in utilizing a variety of instructional strategies (including technology) to engage student learning through innovative, relevant, and real-world experiences
● Experience with student-centered classrooms and cooperative learning
● Ability to work in partnership with parents, staff, students, administration, and the community to provide student focused learning
● Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day along with building/district meetings and conferences
● Experience working with colleagues to accomplish common goals; willingness to collaborate with others and work within a team environment
● Commitment and ability to work with a full range of students to include diverse needs in levels of learning, economic status, and student backgrounds
● Bilingual (English/Spanish) and EL endorsement preferred
Certification Requirements:
● Valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement for K-8
