Want more about birds? Join us later that evening for Movie Night in the Amphitheater! We are showing a PBS film called "American Eagle" about America's symbol of freedom: the Bald Eagle. Despite facing extinction just a few decades ago, they have come roaring back to life and are now a common sight along the shores of Lake Chelan! Bring popcorn, lawn chairs, and blankets to enjoy the film and sunset at Lake Chelan.

This family-friendly scavenger hunt is your chance to learn about our fabulous local birds while enjoying the sun and waves of Lake Chelan!  Everyone is invited, from professional ornithologists to curious children and everyone in between!  Experienced birders from the North Central Washington Audubon Society will hide life-like model birds throughout the day-use area of the park and provide binoculars and simplified field guides to help participants locate and identify each unique bird.  After you’ve found them all, explore a collection of bird guides, listen to calming bird songs, and pick up a FREE poster featuring our local birds!  Stop by the starting booth, located in the park’s Amphitheater, anytime between 10am and 3pm to start your birding adventure!
