Winthrop 49er Days Celebration

Saddle up and head to Winthrop, Washington, as the charming old-west town proudly celebrates the Oak Anniversary 80th Annual 49er Days Celebration – May 9th to May 11th, 2025. This beloved community tradition brings the spirit of the gold rush era to life with a weekend packed full of family-friendly events, exciting competitions, and a healthy dose of western charm.

For eight decades, 49er Days has been a vibrant community tradition of Winthrop, drawing locals and visitors alike to commemorate the town’s rich history and vibrant community spirit. Attendees can look forward to greeting the Washington Outfitters and Guides “Ride the Rendezvous” horses and wagons as they roll through town at high-noon on Friday, May 9th. On Saturday, May 10th at 11am, enjoy the ever-popular Grand Parade, showcasing colorful floats, equestrian groups, vintage vehicles, and local personalities. 

Beyond the signature events, Winthrop 49er Days offers a diverse range of activities for all ages. Enjoy live music and dancing, browse unique artisan vendors, test your rodeo skills on the mechanical bull, and satisfy your appetite with delicious food from local eateries and food vendors. Kids will have a blast with dedicated children’s activities and games all weekend long. Saturday evening, dust off your dancing boots for the Winthrop 49er Days Barn Dance at 7pm with live music from Pack String & Friends.

Schedule of events for the 80th Annual Winthrop 49er Days Celebration:

• Thursday May 8th at 6pm

• • WOGA Pack Train Tri-Tip Dinner ($30 per person) Location near Bear Creek, contact WOGA.org for more information 

• Friday May 9th at High Noon

• • Join us on Riverside Ave to welcome the WOGA horses and wagons as they ride through town! 

• Saturday May 10th 

• • 10:00AM – Line dancing in the streets with West Coast Country Heat
  • 11AM – Grand Parade on Riverside Ave followed by fun & games! (parade participants line up at 9AM on Castle Ave for judging)
  • 10AM to 4:30PM – History presentations at Shafer Museum
  • 12PM – Kiwanis pulled pork lunch at Mack Lloyd Park
  • 12PM to 6PM – Live music at the outdoor stage in the park
  • 5PM – WOGA Dinner in the park ($30 per person) 
  •  7PM – 49er Days Barn Dance with Pack String & Friends ($10 per person TICKETS HERE)

• Sunday May 11th

• • 7AM – WOGA Breakfast at Mack Lloyd Park ($15 per person) 
  • 10AM – Packing Contest
