Job Description:

Thrive Chelan Valley’s Executive Director collaborates and communicates with the Board of Directors to help Thrive Chelan Valley to fulfill its mission of serving, empowering, and
advocating for Lake Chelan Valley’s youth. The Executive Director will also partner with the Program Director, Board of Directors, 100+ volunteers and the greater community to move
organizational operations forward and improve outcomes for Chelan and Manson youth.

LOCATION: CHELAN, WA

SALARY RANGE: $50,000-$65,000 (D.O.E.)
HOURS: 35-40 PER WEEK

ANTICIPATED INTERVIEWS: MID MAY
REPORTS TO: BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANTICIPATED

START DATE: JULY 1, 2022

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION DESCRIPTION

This full-time position requires occasional work during evenings and weekends. Salary is commensurate with experience and will be evaluated annually. A competitive benefits package will be provided to include sick leave, vacation days, paid holidays, and medical insurance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed all necessary paperwork which includes, but is not limited to:
  • Executive Director position application
  • Updated resume & letter of interest
  • Confidentiality Agreement & Employee Handbook
  • Successful completion of a clear Background Check
  • Prior leadership experience in an equivalent setting (i.e. nonprofit, school, etc)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or institution
  • Lives in (or is willing to relocate to) Chelan or Manson
  • Ability to make a three-year commitment to the organization
  • Fluently reads, speaks and writes in both Spanish and English
  • Background in youth development, social work or another related field
  • Experience with financial management & fund development/fundraising
  • Past success collaborating with a Board of Directors
  • Experience with marketing, public relations, and fund development
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Passionate, professional, equity-minded, optimistic, and emotionally intelligent
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, and adaptable
  • Strong time-management skills; able to flexibly navigate a variable work week

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT

  • Collaborate with the Fund Development Committee to oversee and implement an annual
  • Collaborate with Board of Directors to execute organization’s strategic plan
  • Ensure that program vision & goals are directly tied to Thrive’s strategic plan
  • Attend & participate in Board meetings, committee meetings & annual retreats
  • Assist Board of Directors with recruitment & onboarding for all new Board members
  • Communicate with Board Chair on a weekly basis
  • Seek & maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, volunteers & youth
  • Create & oversee effective systems to track and evaluate progress
  • Develop, document and implement program policies & procedures
  • Collaborate with Board of Directors to create, review & update policies & bylaws
  • Oversee, train & evaluate all program staff and volunteers
  • Collaborate with Board Chair to develop monthly Board agenda & Board package
  • Proactively manage strong internal controls and compliance measures
  • Organize and maintain organization’s electronic file database

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT & FUNDRAISING

  • Collaborate with the Fund Development Committee to oversee and implement an annual
    fund development plan
  • Collaborate with the Finance Committee to create and review an annual budget
  • Provide financial data & reports to ensure accurate annual reporting to IRS & SOS
  • Prepare & present quarterly financial reports & budget forecasts to the Board
  • Collaborate with the bookkeeper and Board Treasurer to keep track of all expenses,
    prepare and review monthly financial reports, and reconcile financial statements
  • Develop relationships with donors and stakeholders as well as create & execute an
    annual donor relations plan
  • Oversee & manage donor database to ensure proper categorization of funds received

COMMUNICATION & MARKETING

  • Ensure clear communication flow by utilizing the Board-approved organizational chart
  • Oversee consistent internal and external communications to ensure the presence of a
    strong organizational brand
  • Develop and publish reports that highlight financials, program successes and data which
    inspire and transparently inform donors and stakeholders
  • Nurture relationships and partnerships with stakeholders throughout the community,
    region, state, and beyond
  • Develop & execute a professional & relevant print, web and digital media presence
