Why should couples choose Lake Chelan for their Wedding?
I’ve loved Chelan for years and it has always been such a special spot for me and my family. Over the past few years it has grown in popularity, and I personally believe couples should chose Lake Chelan for their wedding because it offers a stunning combination of natural beauty and versatility. With its crystal-clear waters, rolling vineyards, and sweeping mountain views, Lake Chelan provides a breathtaking backdrop that can elevate any wedding style, whether it’s elegant, rustic, or relaxed. We here in Lake Chelan have a warm, sunny climate during peak wedding season, reducing the risk of weather-related surprises and making outdoor ceremonies and receptions more enjoyable. Not to mention, our area’s filled with charming local amenities, like wine tours, boat rentals, and scenic trails, provide memorable experiences for guests who wish to extend their stay. For couples looking for a destination wedding that isn’t too far from Seattle or Spokane and combines natural elegance with a sense of adventure, Lake Chelan is a truly special choice.
What is the number one tip you give to brides?
The number one tip I can give brides if you have an idea of the approximate date you would like to have your wedding, start inquiring to venues, get your information on pricing and availability, tour if you can and make your decision. Once you have your date and venue locked in you can focus on the other vendors that will be involved (photography, floral, DJ, cake, etc.)
Many brides choose Lake Chelan as a destination wedding location. What do you recommend to brides planning their wedding from outside the valley?
Brides choosing a destination wedding in Chelan have so much to take advantage of! Many guests may be visiting the area for the first time, which gives couples a unique chance to create a vacation-like experience around their wedding. They can plan a relaxed itinerary with ideas for guests to explore, like visiting one of the local wineries, spending the day at Slidewaters waterpark, golfing, or renting a boat to enjoy the lake. I often hear guests at our events say that if they’d known how beautiful it is here, they would have planned to stay longer. A practical tip: book accommodations as early as possible and encourage guests to do the same. As well as shuttles and transportation services.
What is one current wedding trend you are loving?
I always love seeing the fresh, original ideas that emerge in the wedding world. Lately, one of my favorite trends has been mix and match bridesmaids dresses, embracing each brides maid’s unique style, and recently, requesting guest attire to be in the same color palate as the bridal party. It creates such a beautiful ambience to the celebration not to mention amazing photos. I’ve also enjoyed watching people add playful twists to classic traditions. One memorable moment was watching the groomsmen dress up as bakers and humorously craft an Italian wedding cake for the guests. Adding these fun, personal elements makes the day even more unforgettable.
How do you deal with unforeseen events (like weather and unique relationship dynamics)?
With a positive outlook and some creative problem-solving, there’s nothing that can’t be handled on a wedding day. My top priority is always the couple, making sure they feel supported and can enjoy their day regardless of any surprises. When unexpected challenges arise—like sudden weather shifts or small mishaps—having backup plans, like sewing kits or umbrellas, can make all the difference. I also encourage couples and guests to embrace these moments with a mindful, positive attitude. Sometimes, these ‘silver linings’ become the most memorable parts of the day.
What exactly does a day-of wedding coordinator do? What are your responsibilities?
As a day-of wedding coordinator, I’m there to make sure everything runs smoothly and in a timely manner, allowing the couple to fully enjoy their big day without worrying about the details. I’ve learned that the key is staying organized, proactive, and always having a creative backup plan. On the day itself, my main responsibilities include overseeing the setup, managing the timeline, coordinating with vendors, and handling any last-minute surprises. From setting up décor, managing staff, to making sure the couple and their families are where they need to be, I take on the logistics so they can relax and focus on celebrating. I always aim to stay prepared and maintain a positive outlook. With careful attention to each detail, I work to make a wedding look and feel flawless, even when navigating unexpected challenges.
