Beat the Summer Heat & Crowds!

Enjoy a spring getaway to Lake Chelan. You’ll beat the summer heat—and the crowds. Average daytime highs in the 60s and sunny skies are an open invitation to get a fresh perspective on all the trails, tastes and activities the valley has to offer.

The Latest Vintage

Savor the season’s first taste of Washington wine country. In April, Lake Chelan wineries celebrate their new releases—the whites and rosés destined to be your go-to summer sippers—with Chelan Spring Release. Book a weekend at a B&B and tour participating wineries’ barrel tasting events, perfectly paired with live music, fresh cuisine and lakeside vistas. View All Wine Tasting.

Trail Mix

Our typically early spring thaw means it’s time to head for the hills above the valley. Get out on family-friendly trails in the Echo Ridge trail system, with 25 miles of routes. If you’re feeling more ambitious, do some stretches, pack plenty of water and snacks, then traverse Devil’s Backbone, a 13-mile stretch that requires transportation at either end. View All Hiking.

Cycling

Looking for a two-wheeled adrenaline rush? Bust out your mountain bike and bomb down Pot Peak’s 5,000 vertical feet of single-track exhilaration. View All Cycling.

Stehekin

For early-season solitude with a side of adventure, journey 50.5 miles uplake to Stehekin via the Lady of the Lake. Pick up some trail treats at the Stehekin Pastry Company (open Memorial Day Weekend) and check out scenic Rainbow Falls, easily accessible by boat, bike or bus. View All Stehekin Trails.

Spring Swing

You’ve been perfecting your putt all winter—indoors. Spare your furniture and take your swing outside to the area’s seven golf courses, two right on Lake Chelan. Bring your buddies and make a weekend of it. The Valley has plenty of hotels and home rentals, plus restaurants and pubs to keep you and your friends occupied off the links. View All Golf.

Not in for the full 18? Little and big kids alike flock to our two mini-golf courses. At Watson’s Alpenhorn Cafe, near Lake Chelan State Park, enjoy a burger and a shake between putt-putt rounds. The Green at Don Morse Park, a quick stroll from downtown Chelan, boasts photo-op-worthy waterfalls and gardens on a championship putting course. View All Family Fun.
