Washington State Parks
Under general supervision by the Park Ranger, these positions independently performs duties that include park maintenance, operations and public relations. These positions will have lead worker responsibilities and will be responsible for operations, in conjunction with the Park Ranger 3 or 4, when the assigned Park Ranger 2 is not available or the position is unfilled.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Completes and leads other staff in the following areas:
Cleans and performs maintenance on campsites, picnic sites, trails and roads. This includes removing and disposing of ashes from stoves and BBQ’s, Cleaning tables, picking up and disposing of litter and raking and removing debris from the grounds with hand tools and larger equipment.
Maintains park lawns using a mower, weed eaters, trimmers and various other tools. This includes cleaning the equipment, fueling and maintaining, recording use and reporting any problems.
Cleans and performs maintenance on all park building including restrooms using various cleaning campgrounds and supplies. Cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, walls, fixtures, doors and building
exteriors. Performs maintenance on light fixtures, painted surfaces, plumbing and minor structure repairs.
Provide primary customer service functions:
Maintain a basic understanding of CAMIS system hardware and software.
Ensure the efficiency of reservation system operation by guiding parks staff on CAMIS process
Provide information to educate the public regarding park rules and regulations, local events, activities and historic information.
Communicates regularly with supervisor regarding status of park operations, maintenance, customer service and staff.
Completes and assists with administrative duties as needed; to include daily reconciliation of funds collected.
Participates in agency training requirements and follows uniform standards.
