Winterfest Wine Walk

What more could you want than wine tasting in snowy Downtown Lake Chelan? This quintessential Winterfest experience has two chances to taste the award-winning wine being produced in the Chelan Valley.

  • The Tasting Tent, open Friday and Saturday, allows you to explore 20 wineries, each showcasing 2 of their best varietals. The Tent is 21+.
  • The Grand Wine Walk, open Saturday, allows you stroll through the downtown boutiques as you chat with the winemakers and taste their select choice of higher end wines. The Grand Wine Walk allows children to join you as you make your way through Downtown.

Ancestry Cellars

  • 2016 Reminiscence Riesling: A lively and well balanced Riesling with just the right combination of bright acidity and sweetness to please a broad range of palate’s. Notes of lime zest, green apple and stone fruit abound. An underlying minerality and a slight petrol quality similar to German style Rieslings are present in this latest release of our award winning wine. 
  • 2015 Provocant: This Cabernet based blend kicks off with rich raspberry bramble and herbaceous aromatics followed by a complex layered palette of black olive, plum, anise and dark chocolate. Provocant is a distinctive blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.

CR Sandidge Wines

  • 2015 Whistle Punk: Deeply scented – ripe red and black fruits aromas burst forth from this wine. Ripe blackberry notes combine with those of ripe plums and raspberries. Vanilla bean and caramel compliments of the French oak barrel aging add additional highlights. This wine is full bodied. Fine grained tannins balance out the luscious fruit. 
  • Cardinal: A pale salmon – pink color begins the presentation. Warm brioche, ripe Anjou pear, peach, golden delicious apple and juicy strawberries flesh out the aroma – flavor profile. Finished as a Brut, the sugar acid balance is not to tart, not too sweet. The mouthfeel is crisp and juicy. 

Cairdeas Winery

  • 2017 Marsanne: 82% Marsanne, 16% Roussanne, 2% Estate Clairette Blanche A Marsanne dominate blend with Roussanne and a touch of Clairette Blanche from our estate vineyard to enhance aromatics and acidity. Pair with lobster bisque, chicken alfredo or triple cream brie.
  • 2015 Consonance: 2015 Consonance 58% Petite Sirah, 21% Mourvèdre, 13% Syrah, 5% Counoise, 3% Cinsault Cardamom and blueberry on the nose with blackberry, cinnamon and vanilla on the palate. Pair with roast pork, aged Gouda or chocolate torte.

Chelan Ridge Winery

  • 2012 Chelan Ridge Estate Rouge de Moraine: Our newest Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, and Merlot is a real fruit bomb, layered with dark cherries, rich plums, and toasted oak forming the base of the aromas, with cherries, pomegranates and blackberries on the palate. The dense tannin profile is complemented by dark chocolate notes and good acidity making it a great food wine.
  • 2017 Chelan Ridge Estate White Merlot: A pretty, pale salmon due, this elegant off-dry Rosé brings subtle streaks of peach, plum, and white melon flavors accented by a lick of minerality that lingers through the finish. If you like crisp, fresh Rosés with some sweetness, this one is sure to please. Pairs nicely with turkey, chicken, pork, spicy foods, salads, appetizers, or dessert. Served Chilled.

  • 2015 Estate White Trinity: With equal thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah you will find that this is a full-bodied dry rose wine that reveals notes of stone fruit, bing cherry, rhubarb and finishes with a touch of brown sugar.
  • 2015 Estate TNT (Bordeaux Blend): A Bordeaux blend style wine consisting of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Petit Verdot, 30% Merlot and 10% Carménère. This full-bodied wine has bountiful aromas and flavors of delectable plum, juicy blackberry, vanilla, baker’s chocolate, caramel brown sugar and anise.

  • Grill Thrill: Be it the succulence of ribs, a mouthwatering cascade from a freshly cut brisket or the fragrance of flank steak… all are the playground for Grill Thrill. A blend of Wahluke Slope Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot, this wine will soon become your BBQ go-to red.
  • Very Late Harvest Semillon: 100% Semillon dessert wine: Stillwater Creek Vineyards, Frenchman Hills Flavors of peach tea, lemon curd, creme brûlée and pie spice are throughout the entire experience. A graceful ushering of acidity lingers to reposition the palate after the lush sweetness has made its impression.

Radiance Winery

  • 2017 Hanalei: Named after our daughter! Aromas of honeysuckle, subtle grapefruit and citrus blooms collide with exotic tropical fruit flavors of papaya, guava and banana to create this richly textured, medium bodied wine. Subtle tannins and gentle acidity accompany a hint of sweetness making this the ideal summer sipper!
  • 2014 Watertown: Chocolate and cherry make up the primary aromas of this incredibly smooth Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Fruity yet elegant on the palate with flavors of ripe strawberry, spiced vanilla and dark plum that lead to a balanced, mouthwatering finish.

  • Viognier: This wine is lovely on the nose with focus on exotic floral aromas and hints of creamy banana, pineapple and ginger. The texture is a touch creamy that stays nicely bound to the rigid spine of supporting acidity. The heavy finish of this Viognier brings about peach, coconut, and bright fresh apple.
  • Cabernet Sauvignon: Distinctive and refined, this Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of black cherries, rose bush brambles, with hints of singed cedar. Uplifting acidity gives this wine a focused energy with pure flavors that expand on the palate. Layers of plum and currant lead to a long, lingering finish. Velvety tannins provide a supple mouthfeel.

Siren Song Vineyard Estate And Winery

  • Matisse 2014 Chardonnay: This is made in the Burgundian style. Fermented in French oak and aged on the gross lees using bâtonage. Intense fruit on the nose with wild pear and tropical notes. Beautiful acidity and a smooth finish.
  • 2015 Reserve Cabernet: The wines in our Siren’s Reserve series are produced from exceptional grapes grown in select “grand cru” vineyards. Each has a single vineyard designation which means that 100% of the wine is produced from one block in one vineyard. This is in deference to the ancient French traditions and “climats” of Burgundy; wines and terrior that we adore. This Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from the Seven Hills Vineyard in Walla Walla.   • Pinot Gris: Long Finish Delicately fragrant, mildly floral, with lightly lemon-citrus flavors. A favorite, year-round wine that pairs nicely with seafood’s, chicken, pork, summer and winter salads. Fantastic Patio Wine!
  • Cabernet Sauvignon: 30 Months of barrel aging in French & American Oak brought out the Vanilla & Black Cherry flavors all while soothing the tannins to create an excellent Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a must have with Grilled Rib Eye topped with a Blue Cheese Sauce.

  • Fume Blanc: Fume Blanc is lush and bright with orange blossom, melon and lemon oil perfume. Pops of grapefruit mingle with flavors of citrus fruit, nectarine and a touch of French Oak character.
  • 2014 Estate Syrah: A classical cool region Syrah. Full of Spice, black pepper, black cherry and dark fruits. Hints of vanilla and molasses carry through on the finish

Tsillan Cellars

  • 2017 Estate Viognier: Aromas and flavors of apricot, wildflower blossom, Asian pear, and citrus fruits sweep through the entire presence of the tasting experience. Both barrel and stainless-steel portions of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, accompanied with a twice weekly batonnage (sediment stirring) regimen, to bring about its rich texture. Perfect for pairing with your favorite summer salad, pineapple chicken kabobs, or Thai cuisine. 
  • 2015 Estate Syrah-Grenache: Our take on the classic blends in the Southern Rhone, the 2015 Syrah-Grenache opens on the nose with warm, inviting aromas of cherry, cocoa, and an earth driven undertone of dried rosemary. These components lead perfectly into the palate where flavors of raspberry, dates, and baking spice round out within the mouthfeel, finishing nicely with an essence of black tea. The balance and rounded nature of the wine makes it very approachable to food pairings, including dishes such as rack of lamb, rosemary seasoned game bird, and herb seasoned potatoes and root vegetables. 

Tunnel Hill Winery

  • 2015 Estate Riesling: This dry Riesling opens with notes of citrus and Anjou pear on the nose, joined by flavors of lime and green apple. Fresh mineral notes through the mid-palate end with a soft yet bright finish. 
  • 2016 Estate Malbec: Aromas of currants, raspberries and cedar open up to a palate lush with red plums and ripe berries. Soft, velvety tannins are fleshed out by notes of cocoa and allspice.

Vin du Lac Winery

  • 2013 Cabernet Franc: 100% Barrel Aged for 32 months with one year of bottle age before release. This wine opens with dark aromatics of ripe plums, crushed herbs and black licorice. Full on the palate with firm yet balanced tannins and a sustained, savory finish.
  • 2014 Chardonnay: Lake Chelan AVA- 100% sur lies aged. 25% stainless steel, 75% French oak with 50% new French oak. 100% Lake Chelan AVA Chardonnay. This wine opens on the nose with warm biscotti and apricot. Full and balanced on the palate, with aromatics of Meyer lemon, brioche and papaya at the forefront with a lingering finish.

Ancestry Cellars

  • 2015 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: The nose is abundant with classic Cabernet aromas including huckleberries, currants and blackberry with hints of tobacco and spice. Gentle tannins and agreeable acidity make this wine luscious and sophisticated. It will continue to evolve in your cellar over the next several years.

CR Sandidge Wines

  • 2016 Caris: Lovely- ripe red and black fruits are found in abundance on the nose. One will primarily detect blackberry, raspberry and red currant notes. Vanilla bean and toasted coconut compliments of the French and American oak barrel aging kicked in additional aromas and flavors. The mouthfeel is a very silky medium plus body. Fine grained tannins balance out the luscious fruit. This wine may be aged a good 6 to 8 years. A great match with warm gyros stuffed with succulent grilled lamb, peppers and onions. Top with a spicy tzatziki sauce.

  • 2016 Artist Series Boushey Syrah: This varietal Boushey Vineyard Syrah was fermented whole berry and aged in 225L neutral French oak barrels. Bing cherry and blackcurrant liqueur on the nose with a rich palate of plum, salumi and green peppercorn.

Chelan Ridge Winery

  • 2013 Chelan Ridge Estate Ridge Rendezvous: This new wine, a blend of 63% Syrah and 37% Merlot offers boisterous, yet elegant aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and dark chocolate. Oaky, spicy flavors of black pepper, vanilla and mocha accent ripe berry and dark cherry fruit. Supple tannins and crisp acidity complement a smooth, toasty finish.

  • 2015 Estate Syrah: Look out taste buds, this Syrah holds it’s own! It is bursting with aromas of black fruit and black pepper. On the palate, this wine has a mouthful of flavors such as blueberry, blackberry, spice and slight earth tones all merging together for a superb smooth finish.

  • 2016 Chardonnay: A stunning Chardonnay from one of the state’s most prestigious vineyards. The Olsen Vineyards is plotted along benches stretching along the north side of the Yakima River before it bends and wraps around Red Mountain. Offering a gorgeous straw color and a nose of freshly picked stone fruit Napeequa’s Chardonnay rewards the mid-palate with rich, pleasant notes of flinty minerality and toast, coupled with a rush of creamy lemon, hazelnut and hints of butter. The finish is refreshing with a deft touch of acidity.
