Lake Chelan Remains Accessible During Wenatchee Wildfires

Updated June 30, 2015 | 2:45pm

Access to Lake Chelan remains open as firefighters continue to contain two fires in Wenatchee, located in south Chelan County. The Sleepy Hollow Fire has burned 3,000 acres, 28 homes and 3 warehouses. No lives were lost and there were no reported injuries to civilians.

This season’s first wildfires are a good reminder for all coming to celebrate the 4th of July in Lake Chelan and the surrounding areas this weekend. With the warm temperatures and dry conditions, we ask all residents and visitors to take extra caution when participating in the festivities and to please refrain from using any personal fireworks.

Lake Chelan remains accessible from the south via US-97 and US-97A. All business are open and welcoming visitors. The air quality in the Lake Chelan Valley remains clear.
