This will result in youth leading less lonely, more socially healthy lives. We will accomplish this by driving multimedia awareness campaigns, deploying evidence-informed resources, and building youth-led programs.
This position will play a critical part of the next phase of our young organization’s growth. The Connections Specialist for Indigenous Communities and North Central Washington (CS) will work collaboratively with the Director of Programs and VP of Programs to to expand our reach and impact with indigenous peoples and tribal nations as well as expand our reach in North Central Washington. This position is ideal for a North Central Washington local, who is deeply rooted in the community. This part-time position is responsible for growing programming, organizing local events, and cultivating strong community engagement in the North Central Washington region and with tribal nations and indigenous communities.
Connections Specialist Responsibilities:
The CS is a contract position. They are responsible for building new partnerships and collaborations as well as deepening current partnerships and collaborations with a focus on indigenous communities and tribal nations across Washington State as well as in North Central Washington. They will accomplish this through community engagement, event coordination, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement:
Build inroads to and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including families, schools, educators, tribal elders, community centers, local organizations, community leaders, and volunteers.
Represent Only7Seconds at community meetings, events, and forums to enhance visibility and foster partnerships and collaboration.
Serve as a local advocate for youth mental, behavioral, and social health and well-being.
Build and expand Only7Seconds programming within the region, specifically within schools and community centers serving indigenous youth and within schools and community centers in North Central Washington.
Facilitate workshops, activities, and events that promote connection and social health among youth.
Event Coordination:
Plan, coordinate, and execute events that raise awareness about youth loneliness, social health, & connection.
Manage event logistics, including scheduling, marketing, and volunteer coordination.
Evaluate the success of events and suggest improvements for future initiatives.
Administrative Support:
Support the monitoring of program participation, outcomes, and community feedback to assess impact and inform strategic planning.
Assist with grant applications and reporting as needed.
Maintain communication records and ensure timely follow-up with clients and partners.
Ensure compliance with Only7Seconds policies and procedures.

Position Must Haves:

Successful track record of supporting and/or leading projects and successfully completing them.

Extremely well-organized and detail oriented
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, develop partnerships, and engage communities.
A self-starter, with a track record of accomplishment while working under minimal supervision.
Intuitive perception; has the ability to “see the need” before it arrives.
Reliable; maintains a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
Proven success with event attendance/participation/execution
A willingness to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays)
Efficient technological skills, including MS Suite, Google Suite, & basic information gathering and social media understanding.
Ethical behavior and appropriate representation of the organization; professional and welcoming in your demeanor (in-person and virtually)

Position Nice-to-Haves:
Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English
Experience working with tribal nations and indigenous communities
Experience in youth engagement, community engagement, partnership development
and/or public relations
Experience working with Gen-Z and Gen Alpha
Focused attention to detail and the ability to respond to changing needs as presented
Education in behavioral and mental health, social work, indigenous studies, education, or a related area
Location: North Central Washington (in person and remote work with regular in-region travel).
Contractor Compensation: Contract for this half-time (20 hours per week on average) position is competitive and commensurate with experience. $23-$24.5 per hour. Opportunity to increase hours as opportunity and demand increase.
Hours: Part-time, Approximately 15-20 hours per week. Flexible scheduling with occasional evening and weekend commitments for events.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
