Exploring Lake Chelan Wineries: Part IV
Behind Manson, spread throughout the sprawling hills, you’ll find wineries that are well worth the drive. Spend the day getting acquainted with the back roads of Manson and beautiful scenery as you sip your way through these four wineries.
Four Lakes Winery | 4491 Wapato Lake Rd, Manson, WA 98831
There’s nowhere like Four Lakes Winery. Where else can you enjoy 360° views of Chelan, Dry, Roses, and Wapato Lakes while sipping on some seriously good wine? Head to the hills of Manson to get away and enjoy the peace, quiet, and beautiful surroundings. For father and son duo, Don and Karl, winemaking began as a hobby and quickly evolved into a fulfilling and delicious career. Many of their wines are estate-grown and the owners are happy to welcome and chat with you! So grab a glass of their bold TNT red blend or give their White Trinity rosé a try and soak it all in. You won’t be disappointed.
Tildio Winery | 70 E Wapato Lake Rd, Manson, WA 98831
This vineyard tucked in the hills of Manson and overlooking Roses Lake has been going strong since 2005. Katy and Milum Perry have carefully crafted both their wines and the winery, with Milum playing a big part in the building of the winery itself. Katy went back to school to study Enology and Viticulture and gained plenty of experience working for highly-regarded wineries before setting up shop in Lake Chelan. Her knowledge, experience, and passion shine through in every pour. Relax on their quaint patio and sip the afternoon away – we recommend the Chula Rosado rosé!
Tipsy Canyon Winery | 270 Upper Joe Creek Rd, Manson, WA 98831
Tipsy Canyon’s recently opened tasting room is beautiful, spacious, and inviting. Owners Mark and Tami Garvin create an easy-going atmosphere that will make you feel welcome and relaxed as soon as you walk in. And if that’s not enough, their award-winning wines will seal the deal. Being one of the newest wineries in an area full of established and well-loved wineries might seem daunting, but the Garvins have proved that their wines deserve a spot in the valley. Their love for the area and all things wine is evident and you’ll find yourself wanting to come back before you even leave.
Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards | 300 Ivan Morse Rd, Manson, WA 98831
In terms of finding a niche theme, Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards might just take the cake. Their aesthetic is inspired by the stories of an old up lake brothel that used to serve miners in the 1930s. As you taste through their impressive lineup, let one of the tasting room associates tell you about Point Lovely and the rowboat taxi service that helped inspire the winery’s name. Judy and Don Phelps have mastered both the winemaking process and the tasteful yet playfully risqué atmosphere. Enjoy delicious wines like the Nauti Bouy white, the Good in Bed sparkling wine, or the S&M red blend. And don’t leave before taking a picture in the rowboat outside!
If visiting these wineries doesn’t sound like the perfect way to pass an afternoon, we don’t know what will. Cheers to another day of wine tasting in the beautiful Lake Chelan valley!
