The Gerry Lopez River Surf Invitational has been scheduled for Labor Day Weekend 2025 at Lakeside Surf, the best standing wave in the world. This biennial competition will be a two-day battle between the best riversurfers on planet earth. On Saturday & Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, surfers from around the globe will compete in a variety of events that will lead to a single surfer being declared champion. With $40k in prize money on the line, expect these competitors to give it everything they've got. Check our website for updated times and daily schedules. Battle of the Butte - Main Event The Battle of the Butte at Lakeside Surf on June 28th is a known as a local's competition, with heat-based divisions for surfers of all ages (10+) and all skill levels. This is an all-day event with men's and women's divisions. Surf Competitors will battle it out for prizes & bragging rights against surfers of similar age and skill levels. Spectator admission is FREE, so come on up, grab a drink, eat some tacos and savor some sweets while watching the local surfers Battle for the Butte! The "Open" category is a qualifier to compete for Team USA in the Continental Surf Cup over Labor Day Weekend. This is a highly competitive division with world-calss surfers. It's one you won't want to miss!
